Stratford Shakespeare Festival
Geraint Wyn Davies is currently enjoying his seventh season at the
Stratford Shakespeare Festival in the following plays:
Stephano in "The Tempest" June 11 to September 13
Marooned on a distant island with his daughter Miranda,
Prospero has spent twelve years perfecting his
magic arts. Now, with the help
of the spirit Ariel, he raises a storm at sea, bringing within his grasp
the
enemies who robbed him of his dukedom. But what vengeance does he propose to
take?
Dylan Thomas in "Do Not Go Gentle" July 2 to
September 11 (extended run!!)
Finding himself in unaccustomed circumstances, poet Dylan
Thomas reviews a life as deeply steeped in whiskey
as in the intoxicating power
of words. Summoning memories of his childhood in Wales, his many amorous
encounters and his one true love, Thomas measures his talent against that of
the greatest writer of them all: William Shakespeare.
". . . remarkable actor Geraint Wyn Davies, who doesn't
just portray the man, he lives and breathes him."
"A sly smile, a twinkly eye and a rich, plummy voice
are prerequisites for playing the perpetually rumpled
Thomas, and Davies has
them all." -
Michael Kuchwara, AP Drama Critic
A feast of gorgeous language, this one-man tour-de-force
paints an intimate portrait of an artist whose ribaldry
and wry wit do nothing
to disguise the depths of his passion.
Pensacola, Florida - October 25, 2010
The Pensacola Shakespeare Theatre has planned a fundraiser for October 25 (2010) when
Gulf Breeze native and
theater star Claire Lautier and theater star Geraint Wyn Davies
will be
doing scenes from famous feuding couples throughout literature including
characters
from Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward.
More details to come!
